A Family Legacy
Goudkop Bush Camp is not just a business, it’s a heartfelt family legacy nurtured by the Van Zyl family. At the helm is Hennie van Zyl, a lifelong farmer with a deep connection to the Sandveld region. Together with his wife, Louise, and their children, the Van Zyls have lovingly developed Goudkop into a welcoming retreat that blends natural beauty, rustic charm, and genuine hospitality.
Every path, structure, and detail at Goudkop carries the imprint of their personal involvement. From managing the farm and wildlife to overseeing guest experiences and even preparing meals in the farmstall kitchen, the Van Zyls have built a space that reflects their values: simplicity, community, and a respect for nature.

A Working Farm
Goudkop is a fully functioning farm where agriculture and hospitality work hand in hand. From the golden wheat fields to herds of cattle and game such as eland, kudu, and zebra roaming the land, the farm is a living, breathing celebration of the Sandveld’s beauty and abundance. Here, nature is part of daily life, and guests are invited to witness the harmony between farming, conservation, and rural living.
Our Accommodation
The bush camp consists of seven beautifully designed sleeping units, including three cosy rooms in the main camp area and four private chalets nestled a short distance away. Guests enjoy access to a fully equipped kitchen, braai area, an entertainment space with a flat-screen TV, and a swimming pool with breathtaking views of the Sandveld valley and surrounding mountains. Our spaces are designed to offer comfort while immersing you in the tranquillity of nature.
